Last Contact: Maze Survival — updated 29 September 2026

Last updated: 29 September 2026
Applies to: the game Last Contact (com.jesterday.lastcontact) on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

These Terms apply only to Last Contact. Other JesterDay Studio games have their own, separate terms. Last Contact has no advertising, no user accounts and no user-generated content.

1. Introduction

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and JesterDay Studio ("JesterDay", "we", "us"), operating from Spain. Our full business identification is published on our App Store and Google Play developer pages.

By downloading, installing or playing Last Contact (the "Game") you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not install or play the Game.

These Terms apply in addition to the terms of the store you downloaded from — Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement or the Google Play Terms of Service. Where a store's mandatory terms conflict with these, the store's terms prevail on that specific point.

Our Privacy Policy (https://jesterday.studio/last-contact/privacy.html) forms part of these Terms.

2. Definitions

  • Game / Services — the Last Contact application, its updates, and any online features we make available through it.
  • Full Version — the content unlocked by the one-time in-app purchase described in section 5.
  • Platform Services — Apple Game Center and Google Play Games Services, operated by Apple and Google respectively.
  • Local Co-op — the feature that lets two devices on the same local Wi-Fi network play together.
  • IP Rights — copyright, trade marks, design rights, and all other intellectual property in or relating to the Game.

3. Ownership and limited licence — the Game is licensed, not sold

The Game is licensed to you, not sold. We and our licensors retain all IP Rights in it, including the code, artwork, characters, level design, narrative, music, sound design, the title Last Contact, the tagline The Dark Is Watching, and the JesterDay Studio name and logo. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the Game on devices you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial entertainment.

Third-party engines, libraries and assets used in the Game (including Phaser and Capacitor) remain the property of their owners and are used under their own licences.

4. Licence restrictions

You may not:

  • copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the Game or its files;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Game, except where that right cannot be excluded under Art. 6 of Directive 2009/24/EC or other applicable law;
  • modify the Game, inject code, or use cheats, bots, memory editors, modified builds or emulator manipulation;
  • tamper with save data, achievements or leaderboard scores, or circumvent the in-app purchase;
  • extract the Game's art, audio, music, text or code for reuse in other works, including as training data for machine-learning systems;
  • use the Game or its assets commercially without our written permission;
  • interfere with, intercept or disrupt another person's Local Co-op session;
  • impersonate JesterDay Studio or present a modified build as official.

Content creation is welcome. You may record, stream and monetise gameplay videos of Last Contact on platforms such as YouTube and Twitch, provided the video is your own creative work, you credit the Game by name, and you do not present it as official or endorsed.

5. Fees and payment terms

The Game is free to download. It offers a single one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase unlocking the Full Version. There is no subscription, no virtual currency, no loot box and no advertising.

  • Payment is processed and charged by Apple or Google, not by us. The price of the Full Version is shown by the App Store or Google Play before you buy, and varies by region.
  • The unlock is tied to your Apple ID or Google account, not to a device. On a new device or after reinstalling, open Settings in the Game and use Restore Purchase.
  • Refunds are handled by the store under Apple's or Google's refund policies. We cannot issue refunds directly, but write to info@jesterday.studio if a purchase fails to unlock and we will help resolve it.

EU right of withdrawal. Consumers in the EU normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital content delivered immediately, that right is lost once delivery begins with your express consent and acknowledgement (Art. 16(m) Directive 2011/83/EU) — which is what happens when the unlock is applied at the moment of purchase. Your statutory rights over a faulty product are unaffected.

6. Online features, achievements, leaderboards and local co-op

Achievements and leaderboards are provided through Platform Services. Your use of them is also governed by Apple's and Google's terms, and your displayed nickname and avatar come from those platforms, not from us. There is no JesterDay account, no chat and no user-generated content in the Game.

These features are optional — the Game is fully playable offline, and the single-player game does not require them.

Local co-op. The Game lets two devices on the same local Wi-Fi network play together. Co-op traffic travels directly between the two devices and does not pass through any server of ours. It is not encrypted or authenticated, so use co-op only on networks you trust and avoid public or shared Wi-Fi. On iOS, the system asks for Local Network permission the first time you use it. Our Privacy Policy (section 4.5) explains what data is involved.

Fair play. We may remove scores, reset achievements or exclude a player from leaderboards where we reasonably believe results were obtained through cheating, tampering, exploits or automation. Where the platform holder acts on such a report, the sanction is theirs, not ours.

We may modify, suspend or discontinue online features — for instance if Apple or Google changes or retires a service. We will not disable the offline single-player game you paid for as a result.

7. Duration and termination

These Terms apply for as long as you use the Game. The licence in section 3 ends automatically if you materially breach them — for example by distributing modified copies. On termination you must stop using and delete the Game. You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling it. Sections 3, 11, 12, 13 and 14 survive termination.

8. Age requirement

The Game is a horror title rated approximately PEGI 12 / ESRB Teen. You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to play. A minor may play only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on their behalf and is responsible for any purchase made from their account.

9. Service and availability

We aim to keep the Game working on currently supported versions of iOS and Android, but we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Updates may add, change or remove features, including for compatibility with new OS versions or store requirements. We may stop distributing the Game in future; copies already installed and purchased will keep working for as long as your device and OS support them.

You are responsible for backing up your device. Local save data lost through uninstalling, device failure or platform backup issues cannot be recovered by us.

10. Health and safety

Last Contact uses flashing lights, sudden contrast changes, darkness and startling audio. A small percentage of people may experience seizures when exposed to certain light patterns, even with no prior history of epilepsy. Stop playing immediately and consult a doctor if you experience dizziness, altered vision, eye or muscle twitching, disorientation or convulsions.

The Game recommends headphones: keep the volume at a safe level, take a 10–15 minute break every hour, and play in a well-lit room.

11. Warranties and limitation of liability

The Game is provided "as is" to the maximum extent permitted by law, and to that same extent we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes:

  • your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity under Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 and Directive (EU) 2019/770;
  • our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud;
  • any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Subject to the above, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Game is limited to the amount you actually paid for the in-app purchase in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. If you paid nothing, your remedy is to stop using the Game. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss of profits.

12. Indemnity

If you are acting outside your capacity as a consumer, you agree to indemnify us against claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Game. This does not apply to anything caused by our own negligence or wilful misconduct, and does not limit the consumer rights preserved in section 11.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Spanish law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you habitually reside.

If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence, and we will bring any claim against you there. We do not require consumers to arbitrate. If you are not a consumer, the courts of Spain have exclusive jurisdiction.

The European Commission's online dispute resolution (ODR) platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025. EU consumers may still refer a dispute to an out-of-court dispute resolution body in their country; the Commission publishes a directory at https://consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu/dispute-resolution-bodies

We would much rather solve it directly — please write to info@jesterday.studio first.

14. Miscellaneous

We may update these Terms when the Game changes or when law or store policy requires it. The current version is always at https://jesterday.studio/last-contact/terms.html, with the Last updated date above. Continuing to play after an update means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not accept them, stop playing and uninstall the Game.

If any provision is held invalid, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them as part of a transfer of the Game or our business, without reducing your rights.

Apple-specific. Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support for the Game. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Any claim that the Game fails to conform to a legal requirement is our responsibility, not Apple's.
